Boat Excursions
Are you familiar with the emblematic boats of the Bassin d’Arcachon? Embark on a unique sea outing on one of the area’s gorgeous traditional vessels. The pinasse is a flat-bottomed boat whose bright paintwork brings little touches of colour to the smooth sea. You will see many of them anchored near the shore but why not come aboard for an out of the ordinary trip out onto the bay?

For a half-day, a full day or an evening, we offer excursions on pinasse boats on different parts of the Bassin, along the coast, or to the Banc d’Arguin sandbank. Or, you might prefer to take a chaland, the local wooden boat traditionally used by oyster farmers for transporting their goods.
A more classic, but no less pleasant, choice is a sailing boat, also available for rent. You could head for the Prés-Salés Ouest, the largest salt marshes in Aquitaine or the famous cabanes tchanquées, the wooden houses on stilts. You choose where you’d like to go, we’ll do the rest. Set sail and discover the incredible natural heritage of the Bassin d’Arcachon.
Rest assured, you’re in safe hands. Our skippers will make sure your crossing is a safe and sure one. What’s more, you will be able to make the most of their local knowledge and expertise as they share their love of their area with you.
You can also enjoy a meal onboard, prepared from fresh local produce. Whether it’s a snack, a picnic or an aperitif platter, there’s something to please everyone.
